REMOVAL

I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION

• Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle: Towing and lifting) (02A, Lifting equipment).

• Remove the engine undertray.
• Drain the automatic gearbox (see 23A, Automatic gearbox, Automatic gearbox oil: Draining - Filling, page 23A-11) .

II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART CONCERNED

• Remove:
  • the sump bolts (1) ,
  • the sump (2) ,
  • the sump seal,
  • the sump magnets.

REFITTING

I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION

• Always replace:
  • the sump bolts,
  • the sump seal.
  • Clean the magnets.

II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART CONCERNED

• Refit:
  • the sump magnets,
  • the new seal on the sump,
  • the sump,
  • the sump bolts,
• Torque tighten the oil sump bolts (8 N.m).

III - FINAL OPERATION.

• Top up the automatic gearbox (see 23A, Automatic gearbox, Automatic gearbox oil: Draining - Filling, page 23A-11) .
• Refit the engine undertray.
