I - PRECAUTIONS FOR REPAIR

WARNING

Always check the oil level using the dipstick.

Do not exceed the maximum level on the dipstick (could destroy the engine).

Correct the engine oil level if necessary before delivering the vehicle to the customer.

II - PARTS AND CONSUMABLES FOR REPAIR

  • parts always to be replaced: Drain plug seal on engine oil sump (10,03,01,04)
  • Consumables:
    • engine oil

III - OIL SERVICE

  • Position the vehicle on a two-post lift.

  • Remove:
    • the oil filler cap (1) fitted with the dipstick,
    • the engine undertray.

  • Place the oil recovery tray under the engine oil drain plug (2) .
  • Remove the drain plug (2) from the engine oil sump using tool (Mot. 1018) or an oil change wrench.
  • Let the engine oil run into the oil recovery tray.
  • Remove the drain plug seal.
  • Clean:
    • the drain plug,
    • the engine oil sump.

  • Refit:
    • a new seal on the drain plug (2) (position the groove (3) towards the drain plug),
    • the drain plug on the engine oil sump.
  • Torque tighten the engine oil sump drain plug (44 N.m) using a torque wrench and a oil change end piece with an 8 mm square drive.
  • Remove the oil recovery tray.
  • Refit the engine undertray.

IV - FILLING

  • Fill up with engine oil, respecting the recommended quantity.
Note: When filling up the engine oil, always leave at least 10 minutes for the oil to drain down before checking the level on the dipstick.
  • Check the oil level with the dipstick.
  • Refit the oil filler cap equipped with the dipstick.

IMPORTANT

Wear heat protective gloves during the operation.

 

WARNING

Always check the oil level using the dipstick.

Do not exceed the maximum level on the dipstick (could destroy the engine).

Correct the engine oil level if necessary before delivering the vehicle to the customer.

 

Note: Take care not to burn yourself; engine oil can be very hot.

Prolonged and repeated contact with used engine oil may cause skin cancer.

Avoid all direct skin contact with used engine oil.

In the event of contact with the skin, carefully wash the affected area with soap or hand cleaner.

II - PARTS AND CONSUMABLES FOR THE REPAIR

  • parts always to be replaced: Drain plug seal on engine oil sump (10,03,01,04)
  • Consumables:
    • engine oil

III - OIL SERVICE

IMPORTANT

To prevent the vehicle from falling, lash it to the vehicle lift using a strap.

  • Position the vehicle on a two-post lift.
  • Remove the engine cover.

  • Remove:
    • the oil filler cap (1) ,
    • the dipstick (2) .

  • Remove the drain plug (3) .
  • Let the oil run into a oil recovery tray.

IV - FILLING

  • Fill the engine with oil, respecting the recommended quantity.
Note: When filling up the engine oil, always allow at least 10 minutes for the oil to drain down before checking the level with the dipstick.
  • Check the engine oil level with the dipstick.
  • Refit:
    • the dipstick,
    • the oil filler cap,
    • the engine cover.
